The LTE Network

Q1:

What is an LTE network?

R1: The LTE network (Long Term Evolution) is the next generation for wireless technology.

Q2: What is the difference between the HSPA (HSPA+) mobility network versus the LTE network?
R2: The LTE mobility network is an evolution of the HSPA or HSPA+ (High Speed Packet Access) technology. Initially, it will provide access to peak speeds up to 75 Mbps versus 21 Mbps on the HSPA network, or 42 Mbps on the HSPA+ network.

Q3: Will NorthernTel roll out an LTE network within its coverage areas?
R3: We are continually striving to develop new technologies and upgrade our existing technologies. At this point in time, it is premature to discuss a launch date for the new LTE network in our coverage areas.

Q4 : Will my LTE device work on an HSPA network?
R4: Yes, your LTE mobile device will automatically work on our HSPA network with speeds of up to 21 Mbps or up to 42 Mbps on our HSPA+ network.

Q5: Will my HSPA device work on an LTE network?
R5: Unfortunately, HSPA devices are not compatible and cannot connect to an LTE mobile network.
