As of November 16, 2008, all Canadian cellular companies, including NorthernTel Mobility, will be retiring their analog networks in a move to an all-digital network. U.S. analog networks have already been discontinued.

All analog customers have to upgrade to digital network to continue subscribing to NorthernTel Mobility’s services.

What does all-digital mean?

A New Means of Communication:
You will now be able to send text messages as well as picture and video messaging all from your cell phone.

Staying Connected: Check the weather, movie listings and sports scores all by accessing the Internet straight from your cell phone.

Create a Media Centre: Television, videos, music and ringtones can all be stored at your fingertips.

Other benefits of a digital network include:

  • Bigger choice of cell phone models
  • Longer battery life
  • Better call clarity and improved call confidentiality
  • Fewer dropped and blocked calls

To give the opportunity to the analog customers to take advantage of the digital benefits right now and to help them in their transition, NorthernTel Mobility is providing cell phones starting at $0.

Customers with analog devices are therefore invited to visit an authorized NorthernTel Mobility dealer now!

Note: Customers who go to an authorized dealer will be able to recycle their old cell phone. For every cell phone that will be recycled, $1 will be donated to WWF-Canada.
